Driving for about one hour and fifteen minutes you can get to the area of the Maremma Toscana with its villages overlooking the Tyrrhenian sea. 

Castiglion della Pescaia is an exclusive tourist attraction thanks to its sea and beaches, the environmental care and its facilities. The famous seaside resort is overawed by the historic centre set on the promontory which hosts on its top the Medieval castle. The historic centre hosts several Medieval buildings showing the characteristic walls made in stone.

Punta Ala is a small suburb of Castiglione della Pescaia, the famous seaside resort set on the northern slopes of the namesake promontory which is characterized by a very beautiful beach and villas hosting elite tourism.

 Cala Violina is a striking small bay in the municipality of Scarlino which overlooks the Natural Reserve named Bandite di Scarlino. - The small bay, not very broad, is hemmed in two promontories and is characterized by a white and thin sand and by a see-through sea.- Its peculiarity consists in the sounds the beach releases once it is stepped on by people ; this sound can be heard above all during the low season because in the other periods, above all weekends and in Summer, the resort is very crowded. Nevertheless, one shouldn’t be discouraged considering that the resort, highly protected by the cold northern winds, allows people to spend there some sunny days even in Winter time.- It is not reachable with private vehicles. In Summer time there is a shuttle service.

It could be also interesting to spend one day in the Parco Naturale dell’Uccellina.

There is a ferry-boat service leaving from Piombino to the islands (Elba, Giglio, Capraia).
